Integrated Jacking Pipes
Steel Pipes Cast inside Concrete Pipe
Metco has developed a product that provides a solution for laying of steel pipes in areas where it is not possible to dig a trench, such as across highways, steel tracks and so forth.
The conventional solution for such works was based on inserting a large-diameter concrete pipe and using it as a sleeve through which steel pipe moves. The new approach involves production of an integrated concrete pipe with steel pipe already inside.
- The integrated pipe is inserted into the ground.
- The solution combines the advantage of steel pipes in their ability to convey water under high pressure with that of concrete pipes which are able to carry heavy loads over ground.
- Three 100” diameter pipes were successfully inserted using this technique over the past year.
- The company has plans for additional designs lines (60" under the Geha Highway and Aluf Sadeh street.
- The entire development process was carried out by Metco's own in-house engineers and technologists utilizing the in-depth knowledge accumulated by the company over the years.
